Journalism

Some of the best days on the job are when you meet your sports heroes. Such as the day Viv Richards, Gordon Greenidge and Wes Hall came to the BBC at Bush House. Or when Donovan Bailey, Olympic gold medalist, invited me to join his crew for a beer in Beijing. I covered the news of sport, because sports is about far more than scores and highlights. Been a reporter and analyst on the Caribbean, and even our beautiful region has seen its share of tragic events – natural and biological disasters. It’s not all bad news – we love a good homecoming story. I’m a business and technology journalist first, and one of the most satisfying stories in this space was on the rise of women executives in Nigeria’s oil industry.

Sierra Leone, Iran, Jamaica, Beijing, New York, London, Washington, Port-au-Prince and Port-of-Spain all had their own powerful stories. And images. Here are some of the best photos.
